Weeelllllll, here I am. So since this is my first blog post I guess I'll let you guys know a little bit about me. My Name is Brenden Clancey Hampton. I am seventeen years old (18 in September) and I'm the oldest of four. At Crafton I am taking Astronomy, Intro. to Theatre, Social Problems, Calculus II, Hip-Hop, and Freshman Composition. I am sooooo happy to be out of high school and part of the college system. The thing I love most on this earth is Theatre. I love being on stage or behind the scenes, as long as I am a part of the production in some way. So far I have been a part of thirteen stage plays, three of which were musicals. My roles have ranged from clowns to power-hungry merchants to radio hosts. I also love to read. All the time. I like hanging out with my friends and going on adventures. I'm also very big on music. I like just about every type of music there is (except country) and like dancing to it too. I guess I'd have to say that dancing is my other passion. I love learning the form behind all sorts of dancing. I learned lots of Jazz and Tap from the musicals I was a part of, but also in my senior year of high school I joined Ballroom Club which taught me various forms of dancing, such as Salsa, East Coast Swing, and Cha-Cha. I even got to perform a choreographed East Coast Swing number in front of the whole school at the last rally of the year. Here's an interesting clip of a type of dance I have also learned: West Coast Swing.
Some background on this video: this couple have never danced together, ever. They are competing in a special division in a dance competition called Jack-and-Jill, where two random dancers are paired together and made to dance on the spot. This couple only got fourth place, but I think they should have won. I hope you enjoy the clip, keep your eyes on the fedora... :)
Later Days,
Brenden

ReplyDeleteHello again Brenden,
ReplyDeleteI remember you from Psychology class in high school. Congratulations on your recent graduation. Your blog is impeccable; will you teach me how to customize mine? I think it’s amazing that you can perform numerous characters with different personalities, that requires true talent. And it’s great you have learned different styles of dancing throughout high school. Wish they would have started most of the clubs they have now back when I was a senior.
Although I can’t dance I agree, that couple should have won first prize for that well thought out routine. It’s very nice to meet you Brenden and I will see you on Tuesday.
Hello Brenden,
ReplyDeleteLife never ceases to amaze me. You and I could not lead more different lives...but by chance we have met and started a friendship. You are definitely starting your life at seventeen, while I have definitely crossed that middle age mark and beginning to embark on the second half of my life. You are looking forward to a career, and I am looking forward to retirement. You love to dance and I have two left feet. You sing and I can't carry a tune. You are into Performing Arts and Theater and I am interested in science.
You are definitely computer savvy, while I am floundering and lost. You are somewhat flamboyant in your mannerisms and I tend to be reserved.
But fate had us sit next to each other in English and you extended kindness to me that I will be forever grateful. Even if we never talked again, I can tell you that you are special. You are kind, sincere, giving, and full of life and promise. I hope all your dreams come true and life gives you the very best it has to offer. I look forward to reading your blogs and getting to know you.
Another comment on your profile, you did such a Nice job! I have a group of friends in theater classes at Crafton, maybe you know some of them. Personally I Love everything about theater and have seen many plays, but I would never have the guts to be a part of the performances. Kudos to you!
ReplyDeleteYour link is amazing, it's almost tough to believe that was the first time the dancers had met. I hope that you reach all of your goals someday and I will be cheering for you during the next school show!! Keep up the awesome blogs, see you in class!
